As a self-taught programmer, I realize I've many blind spots. I would like to get better well rounded when discussing software engineering topics.

Things like data structures but also modern software engineering practices.

Any books, courses or other resources I should focus on?

I've 10 years of experience with infrastructure, lately focusing on cloud and Kubernetes.

I'm doing well with all the configuration management knowledge but my programming skills aren't fluent enough for a SRE role, a-la Google. I discovered that in recent interview.

I can reduce my work week from 5 to 3 days, leaving me with 2 days plus weekends to focus exclusively on programming tasks. For one year.

What should I focus on, considering my target is 100% Backend Projects?

Is there a sci-fi novel that explores a reality where out of sudden money doesn't exist anymore (or something similar)?

Medium or long-term futures in all areas.

I was running Skype for Linux 5.5.0.1 (pinned version) because I didn like the new one (8.x) but it seems that, since yesterday, Skype won't let me login anymore.

I had to update to version 8.10.0.4 to be able to login.

Anyone seeing this too?

EDIT: The accessibility is terrible. I can't find a way to change other people's colors (it seems to be using the color gradient they chose).

I'm on a capped internet connection and need to limit my bandwidth usage as much as possible.

In the old days, that meant installing a transparent proxy using Squid.
