Ask HN: What is the most amount of people you have had on your site at one time?
By the way, if you're able to get a small mention on BBC Click, we'd highly recommend it. We've seen some great triffic and feedback since our mention.

We started very slowly and in our first 6 weeks only had 130 users registered (email addresses given to us to receive daily doses of inspiration) and averaged around ~ 100 users a day coming to the site.
But now, we are averaging around ~ 1000 users a day coming to the site and have just broken the 500 mark for number of users registered on to our system.
We've made no money thus far (we plan on exploring ways of making money once we have an active user base) and have spent $100 on advertising.
We wondered how these stats compare to other sites who are in their early stage. If interested we can put a blog post together to explain exactly where our traffic comes from and how we've grown the site thus far - as we've learnt an awful lot in our 10 weeks thus far.
Finally, if you have any ideas on how we can improve the site further then we'd welcome suggestions. Thanks!
The idea is Special Bomb bins - a lot of bombings occur by terrorists placing bombs in bins. I don't know anything about bombs but I wondered if all bombs all contained an element that a bin could pick up on and auto alert authorities that that element existed within the bin. For example if all bombs contained 'x', and you had special bins that alerted authorities when the bin came into contact with 'x'. Or something along those lines. Happy to be told this idea is incredibly stupid. If that is the case, has anyone got any ideas about how we could possibly build a better bin so that terrorists can't hide IED's in bins without anyone knowing - or is that impossible?
Thanks, Steve
We've just added a feature - stumble. Users can now stumble their way through inspiration. Simply click this link - http://getinspired365.com/stumble and press the right and left arrow keys. If you feel like you are in need of a bit of motivation it is a great way to spend 5 minutes. If there is a particular topic that interests you, then click a tag and you can stumble through inspiration just for that tag.
thanks!
Just wondered what authentication methods banks in America/rest of the world are using?
In the UK we use chip and pin to authenticate a customer. Just wondered if we were behind the curve and if there was a new, easier, way of doing it?
thanks
A month ago we launched our site - http://getinspired365.com/ - to HN and got some great feedback. We've attempted to take this feedback and improve the site. It's taken us a month, and we'd love to hear your thoughts.
Specifically we've addressed the following:
A New Interface
Tags - Every bit of inspiration now has multiple tags associated with it. That means, if you are inspired by a particular area, 'Perseverance' for example, you can flick through all the inspiration relating to that area. You can find the complete set of 'Tags' in the top right hand corner of the page. You can also view the tags relevant to that bit of inspiration at the bottom bar.
Stumble - We appreciate someone may want to look through random bits of inspiration and not just be constrained to a daily view. Using the 'Stumble' feature allows you to look at different types of inspiration by just clicking the right arrow.
Likes - Each daily dose now has a heart icon, if you like the inspiration then click the heart icon and it will save it as a page you have liked. Click 'likes' in the top right hand corner and you can cycle through all the inspiring things you have liked over time.
Social - Located in the top bar, you are able to post your own inspiring items. Simply press social and submit a post.
We'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks Steve
The link they've linked off to doesn't appear to be working (presumably down to traffic volume).

Please note: some pictures may cause distress.
I don't understand why an individual, who pours his heart and soul into a startup/company and who sees that company flourish and make really great profits which affords that individual to have the life he or she wants to live, then bothers trying to expand? Why do they not stick at what they are good at, what made their business/product great? Is it greed? Or does a company have to expand to survive?
I run a small site. The reason I run it is because one day I would love nothing more than to work full time on it and be my own boss. If my small site made me enough money to live a fun life and to be able to do the things I would want to do then I can't imagine any situation where I would want to take my small site and expand it into an area that I didn't understand, feel comfortable with or introduce people into it that I did not know. What's the point?
I am not trying to be obtuse and I hope I am not being ignorant. I just don't understand why people would risk what they have (like Andrew Mason). So he earns an extra $x million, what could he do with that that he couldn't do with his existing fortune?
