Ask HN: What authentication methods are banks using besides chip & pin?

Hi guys,

Just wondered what authentication methods banks in America/rest of the world are using?

In the UK we use chip and pin to authenticate a customer. Just wondered if we were behind the curve and if there was a new, easier, way of doing it?
