Have been hearing and reading a bit about this topic this morning. Can someone with possibly a better understanding explain to me (technically - no marketing speak) what this new Google Search ability is.

So Facebook is launching its Oculus Quest this spring.

I absolutely loathe Facebook, its leadership (or lack thereof), and its products. But I'm absolutely thrilled to get a Quest when they're released.

Question is: Do you think the Quest will just be another Facebook personal data-hogging tool? Or will this product be different?

Obviously if it's the former, I plan to abstain from buying.

I'm thinking about building a little test app that uses Google's Speech to Text Service, but since it involves money (yea you can do a bit for free, but generally speaking, there's a cost involved) I'm trying to make sure all my bases are covered before I do a deeper dive.

Basically I'm looking for something similar to the following functionality:

1. Client sends request with audio 2. App server receives request and forwards to Google's S2T API 3. S2T transcribes the audio into text and responds to the app server 4. App server responds to client with transcribed text

Would this type of functionality be available? Any help is appreciated.

In California, are there any rules that say a property owner/manager must give all tenants a unique key? I ask because lately there’s been an old lady at my complex that keeps mistakenly trying to come into my room. How is my property owner/manager not liable for any damages (if they occur) when they give everyone the same key?

What are some practices that companies employ to prevent their employees from stealing/leaking sensitive company information.

I've heard methods such as - obviously hosts contacted by the client machine - using software to detect if information has been exported via USB
