Looking for a YC company (gaming) that posted a job here
thank you!
thank you!
So my goal right now is to help her create some kind of a lifestyle business where she could work from home.
Right now I could only think of helping her to set up some kind of blog/e-magazine about travels and hopefully make money from hotel lead generation / affiliation. Though that would require to have some critical mass. I also thought about ebay, but I don't have any experience on the seller side so it's hard to see what's possible.
Any HNer set up a business lifestyle for his mom before ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
A friend from college and I are ready to start building a product now. So we're at the "idea exploration" stage.
My dad works in a big corp (sales side), and after having talked to him I think I spotted an opportunity ( something that can be fixed using technology ). It's ideal for customer development because the product would be targeted at people like my dad !
The question I have is : do you think it's possible to sell software to big companies when the team is composed of 2 CS grads ( 23 years old ), at least at the beginning ?
What are the different techniques to sell to big and middle corporations when you don't come from inside ( but can have some connections, in this case through my father ).
Has anyone done it before ?
Thank you.
I've been reading HN and startup-related news for a while, but it turns out I'm still extremely confused when it comes to my next step : in which direction to go ?
I mean, should I think about starting a company that can clearly generate revenus ? Or should I aim at doing something that add value, build traction and then figure out how to monetize it ? ( let's say for instance a web/mobile app for a new kind of social photo sharing )
I have the feeling that starting a company based on a "fun" or/and useful product without any idea on monetizing it works only if you're in the Sillicon Valley area. Does anybody else share that feeling ?
So basically I'm just wondering if I should really focus on a product that generates revenue from day 1 ( à la Wufoo ), or do something more risky that might one day make money once it has traction ( à la social apps ).
Reading blogs/HN etc make me even more confused since a lot advices/recommandation contradict themselves.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I wonder if I should earn a bit more by working for a while, how much did you have when you started ?
