Ask HN: Facebook suspended our page after posting about our Leads integration
I’m the CEO of NewsMAN.com, an Email Marketing and Automation platform.
Recently, we completed an integration with Facebook Leads and, as always, published a blog post detailing the update: https://www.newsman.com/blog/facebook-lead-ads-integration-newsman-email-marketing/. We also shared the blog on our Facebook page and boosted the post to our audience.
A day after posting, our Facebook Page was suspended. https://www.facebook.com/NewsmanApp/
The reason provided was vague: - Creating a Page or profile that looks like it belongs to a brand or business - Pretending a Page or profile has a business relationship with a business, celebrity, or public figure
We’re not impersonating anyone (we own the trademark and the NewsMAN.com domain). The only explanation left is that Facebook believes we are implying a relationship with a celebrity (i.e., Facebook itself) due to the integration.
What’s confusing is that similar integrations are common across other platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Mailerlite, Zapier, etc.).
Despite removing the page post and appealing multiple times, we haven’t made any progress. After numerous calls, WebEx sessions, several chat sessions, there’s been no fix or follow-up emails from Facebook. It seems we are stuck between an automated process (AI maybe) and the support team.
I’m reaching out to the HN community for advice: What else can we do to get our page reinstated?
Thank you for any suggestions!
