Background: I noticed that my better half spent a lot of time searching for the same thing (at the time it was maternity dresses) across a whole load of women's fashion stores online. So I built her a site that lets her search some of the top stores from one site.

I have an idea for a few social elements that I want to add to try and make more of a community.

I'm a coder who builds websites that I think are awesome and useful. The problem I have is getting people to my apps and conveying how useful they are to the general public.

How can I get better at this? Are there any videos I should watch? Any websites or books I should read? Any tips?

idle.fm is an app that looks at the music you have "liked" on Facebook, then builds a playlist on Spotify based on recommendations.

I built it in the few hours I have free during the last couple of weeks. There's still a few rough edges (it's quite slow at the mo) but I thought I'd show you guys. It should work on iphones, although there aren't tailored views yet.

Do you think it's worth me continuing development? Suggestions, problems?

I'm about to embark on designing an API for my startup. Are there any guidelines available online regarding things like:

- Which response codes should be returned - How errors should be handled - How the xml/json should be structured - How to handle authentication

Or can someone point me in the direction of a particularly well thought out REST API in the wild, that I can learn from?

We're planning on launching our service this week, so I'd like to bone up on how to use Google Analytics efficiently.

Currently, all I have setup is standard page tracking, and this is about the limit of my knowledge at the moment.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some resources (websites, slides, books, anything) that can help me understand what metrics I need to track, setting up goals/funnels and anything else that may be useful?

Tunes AM is a quick project I knocked up over the weekend that allows you to post links to music to your facebook account.

I'm planning to expand it to allow you to signup via Twitter as well.
