Would you create an account on a App that requires a Phone Number?

The reasons for asking for a Phone Number are to prevent abuse, better control spam and make the accounts more secure.

More apps are now requiring a Phone Numbers to create an account. I also know some people are against sharing to much information.

Would you provide a number if it was justified? Are the reasons above justifiable?

My team is currently discussing a relocation to either San Fransisco or New York City in the next 2 months our so. We are a social network startup currently based out of Atlanta. ATL is a young growing city and we believe the media connections and partners here are great. However our reason for wanting to relocated is 2 things.

1. Talent is really hard to find here in Atlanta. 2. The network of investors in Atlanta aren't interested in our space.

I personally have lived in both locations. I find them both to be expensive but livable. I've also found that 3 months networking at these locations is 12 months in ATL. I'm interested to see what the HN community thinks. Any founders who have made the move that can share some wisdom would be great.

Pretty straight forward question. Wondering what location uses HN the most and when is the best time to post?

What is your opinion on putting a team bio on a Landing Page? What advantages does it have? I find it to be tacky.

My Cofounder and myself are looking for someone to join our team. We already have an app in the app store with positive growth. We are looking for someone to help iterate a rebrand/new features and designs based on user feedback.

We are open to explore options whether that be a cofounder role or contract role. This is a great opportunity at a early stage startup.

How many startups can the HN community build together.

I'm a big startup enthusiast but I'm also an encourager of collaboration. Im constantly reading Show HN, concepts and finding a lot of amazing talent on HN. I've noticed there is also a lot of missed opportunities to have these awesome people connect and work together to build their ideas.

We need some advice on our next step. We currently have a product that is in the App Store that we launched for user validation. The problem is, we now have that validation but the product isn't scalable. We outsourced the development so the backend isn't what it should be it crashes and has lots of bugs.

The reason we did this is because my cofounder and myself are design and marketing backgrounds. However it served its purpose as a Validation tool. We are now planning on doing a Burbn --> Instagram move. We will be using our feedback to build a better product and hit the market on larger scale.

My question is should we find a Technical CoFounder who can fix the issues on the product we have? Which we all know finding a quality CoFounder is hard. Where is the best place to find CoFounders?
