- Harness: Opencode (via Openchamber) - Subscription: GitHub Copilot (50$) - API Usage (beyond subscription): Open router - Free models: Opencode go
Here's the models I've trialed and like:
- Large (alternative to Opus): GPT 5.3 Codex - Medium (alternative to Sonnet): Minimax 2.7 - Smol: GPT 5.4 mini
these models are not yet on par to their respective Claude alternatives for me, but maybe I need to switch to something else or tune them, what have you been using?
Also looking for nice Opencode plugins, skills, completion providers (alternative to Cursor that I could use with Zen).
Happy to hear about your choices and experience
Thank you
Now, the other interesting bit is that the project also has a Contributor Licence Agreement (CLA) which also seems to provide all copyright to Shopify. I don't really understand how these legal stuff work in software, but I heard that CLAs have been used in the past to profit off contributors by moving to another proprietary licence (MongoDB and Elastisearch did that)
Then do you (developers on HN) stay away from CLAs? It doesn't sound too risky for me, and I've probably listened to one too many open source activists.
Another question, if I may, would it be possible to relicense a fork of Polaris to MIT (removing the Shopify clause?)
but the thing that's not talked about anywhere is that Spotify wrapped didn't release in some countries/regions where it was released previous years such as Rwanda, Venezuela, Bangladesh etc.
This is a bfd because Spotify wrapped is insightful and actually useful and them just removing the feature overnight for premium users without even notifying them is weird. the Spotify community site is filled with these complaints but staff won't reply or say anything about it, completely ignoring it. I kinda wished some media sites atleast reported it and then Spotify would say why they didn't release wrapped for some countries (mostly developing countries).
And it's not the first time either. many Spotify features are unavailable in my own region without explanation even though I'm a premium user. The list includes: Spotify canvas, video podcast, audiobooks, hey Spotify, karaoke mode, the Storyline feature and more... We are just treated unequally and it sucks.
