What are the drivers for the high end brands to give such deep discounts? Do they buy inventory and hold or does the brand do the order fulfillment etc?

Given that white label social networks like kickapps have had great success, what you think of doing a white label mobile social network as a product idea? Every telco seems to want one of their own and I am sure a lot of niche mobile sns are going to mushroom. Quick research turned up only Wadja.

Background: I am a hands on tech guy with a small but kick ass dev team. Doing consulting work for other valley start ups + couple of small in house projects. Looking for one idea to focus all our efforts on. BTW if you have an alternative idea and willing to pull your weight get in touch. I am open to bring in my team + seed money for right idea.

What should be the approach for banning offending users from your site? The only way I can think of to identify them is their IP. In the world of proxies and shared ips, how to ban one user, with out impacting other legitimate users?

My wife is looking to add chat to a small website she runs(< 500 members), which will enable users visiting the site at the same time to chat with each other. Preferences in that order - free or low cost - no or less intrusive ads - can be skinned

Our enterprise product is in the operations management and Asset Discovery space.

We need a good free/opensource or low cost license management product to integrate with our J2EE based product.

I am the founder of Ideas2It(www.ideas2it.com) which has a onshore/offshore team. The idea is to be technology partners for startups to bring their ideas to market without taking too much funding. A good case of this model is www.scoobydeal.com, a rails site which we implemented from concept to completion in just 3 months.

Though I am willing to share the risk on ideas I believe in, by taking part of the compensation in equity, I am being repeatedly asked to do the whole work for equity or deferred payment.

There is a particularly interesting(very interesting technology, good background of the founder,etc) project on the table, which I am being asked to do on deferred payment. I.e. payment on Angel funding, till then 1% interest after first 6 months.

What are the pitfall of such a deal? If I go for it, how should I structure the deal?
