Hey everyone, I just wanted to point out that the project behind making a Material Design-based operating system (http://quantum-os.github.io/) showed up in two posts over today and yesterday. I hope everyone notices that many news articles were written yesterday (e.g. http://9to5google.com/2014/11/21/quartz-os-linux-material-design/ ) on Quartz OS, but today I noticed that at the top of Hacker News there was a post of Quantum OS. Does anyone know why they changed from their original name?

It's also worth mentioning that the old Quartz OS links to github don't work, so I assume it's correlated to their move, not a completely different project that's very similar.
For the past many years, Apple has released new iPods every other year... But this was the year for that to happen again, and for anyone who watched their Special Event, you know that didn't happen. Now, their iPod Shuffle and Classic haven't received upgrades for 4 years or over each, which I can understand (who wants to pay 50 bucks for 2 gigs of storage and no screen?), and I can understand if they discontinue both. However, I was honestly expecting an iPod Touch 6th gen this year, and am VERY surprised that Apple hasn't released one. I can see if perhaps the Apple Watch replaces the iPod Nano to some extent, but I know the both the iPod Touch and iPod Nano are huge sellers for Apple, and I really don't understand why they haven't received upgrades. Does anyone have an answer to this question that's bothering me? I would hate for the legacy of the iPods to die.
I was wondering if there is a good service/app/website for discovering apps that are newly released, are on a deal, or are truly interesting and new in nature (like the sort of thing you would find on producthunt.com). Also, is there a way to find apps that are in an open or invited beta as well?
I was thinking that Steam is the go-to multi-platform game selling/publishing service, and that every major platform has it's own software publishing store (e.g. Mac App Store, Ubuntu Software Center). Yet, is there a multi-platform service similar to Steam that allows you to publish software?
I just recently noticed there was an update from skype, with various new features added. Of course, I decided to download the update, so I tapped on the "update" button. However, a message pops up saying "This Item has been removed". I wondered if it was some sort of glitch (I changed from one Apple ID to another recently), so I decided to delete the app and re-download it. Surprisingly, it wasn't there in the App Store at all. What would cause Microsoft to remove it (perhaps temporarily, perhaps permanently) from the App Store?
I know about Swift, O-C, C, C , and maybe even C# utilizing Unity for iOS, however, is it possible to write native iOS apps in even more languages? For instance, would there be a way to run Python or Ruby-based apps?
I just got a late 2011, 15-inch MacBook Pro from my older brother. I enjoy programming/developing a lot, so what apps should I get/install on the new system for developing and productivity?
I have approximately 1 hour of free time scheduled in during my very busy summer, and I'm wondering what sort of productive/programming/money-making thing(s) I should spend my time on? For instance, is that enough time to say, develop an app fully in during the summer?
I've heard about the great areas that developers have at places like Facebook/Google, but I was wondering if there's people who know of even better ones, or if purportedly "good" work conditions at places aren't so great after all.
