Can I download GitHub repos and have user search the code over the web?
I was thinking of creating my own online code search free service by downloading repos from Github and indexing the code. Anyone knows if this not illegal?

I am finding it hard to find people like that. I tried local meetups and some online. I do not want to start a startup as a full time thing. I want to keep my day job and work on something that might create a good amount of extra revenue. If income exceeds my salary, then great. I might concentrate on it full time then.
There was a site called build it with me (builditwith.me?) and it seems it's gone.
I was wondering if anyone knows of similar sites where one can find other people interested in starting something on the side with someone else. Another developer.
I learned that Microsoft will take 5% of revenue from sales. Less cut than before. I read some articles how the Store is beneficial to publish to and how Windows 10 has millions of user.. etc. Ok. I know all this stuff. I also read that the store has little traffic, full of useless apps and an app may not be visible. Same thing that plagues Apple and Google stores. I personally never go to the Store looking for apps. I search on Google and downloaded the installers of apps I am interested. Frankly, I don't even like Windows 10 apps. I prefer WinForms apps so I am thinking of creating a WinForm app and using the Bridge app to convert to UWP and publish that to the store.
I am interested in creating some extra revenue besides my day programming job. I just want to have an idea how much revenue one can be expecting. I would like to hear from developers who actually published in the Store a year or less ago. (I already know about web/SaaS apps but this question is specifically about UWP apps and making money from Microsoft Store)
Now there are sites that detect you're using an ad blocker and the most obnoxious ones of them won't show content unless I disable the ad blocker on their site. Fine. I will do that. So what kind of ads so I start seeing? The bicycle I was doing research on the web some weeks ago. I ALREADY BOUGHT the bike yet I still see these TARGETED ads where they are showing me where I can get the bike!
These big data companies collect so much information about me. They think they are clever by showing me targeted ads.
They are not smart because they do not know or can know I already purchased the bike. On top of that, I can't go and tell them I have the bike so please stop showing these 'targeted' ads. Bullshit big data and bullshit AI. There's a big disconnect between what they collect and how they can make my life better. As long this big data is only about displaying ads, it's junk as far as I am concerned. I can't remember the last time I purchased something because of an ad. I haven't seen a TV commercial since about 2000 when I got my first TiVo and stopped watching live TV.
What's your app and how much are making every month?
I am also reading about negative stories about the store and I am not sure this is true these days. https://betanews.com/2016/01/22/developer-windows-store-is-a-disaster/
Two questions: 1- Do companies usually give a raise of at least the inflation rate or it's whatever they feel like it even if it's pretty low?
2- I feel I want to have a talk with my manager before the next year raise particularly saying I wasn't happy with the earlier raise. How do I communicate to the manager that if the company is going to give low raises again, I am going to be pretty unhappy. I want to let him know that I will consider leaving the job without telling this directly to him.. or should I tell him? They like my work but I don't know if I am dealing with a company that has the attitude of "If you don't like it, leave the company". It's a big public company.
I like the company and it will be pretty hard to find something better. Better to me are a few things other than salary. My salary is above average and it will be hard to find companies with matching or better salaries. So I feel I am kinda stuck. I don't want to move to another city. If they keep keep giving me such raises, I will feel they are using me.
What do you guys do in such situations?
