I just finished a project that took me a lot longer than expected after doing a 12-hour coding push. But that's unusual, I haven't done that much free-time coding in a few years. What keeps you motivated?

For example, right now when I'm creating boards (agile), it will create a new board and its id will be n + 1.

What is an efficient way of creating an ID where there won't be any collision even if there are 1 billion+ entries?

This ID will be used in a url..

I have been hacking away on my personal task management / kanban project (https://www.taskfort.com) and have been trying to think of things that would be useful to the end-user.

What are some features that you can't live without in the web-apps you use / pay for?

I have a built a task management service called Taskfort (https://www.taskfort.com) where you can either run an on-premise version or sign up for a cloud account. The premium cloud account allows for private boards and data migration. I wanted to add the data migration so you aren't locked into the cloud service. If people like the general concept, I will be tackling other projects with the same structure.

I currently use namecheap, but they have a limit of 50 or so subdomains.. I'm looking for a domain provider with an API that I can tie in w/ generating the sub-domain so when a company signs up for my service, they'll get a url like.. (http://customcompany.taskfort.com)

I'm trying to build a following with a pre-launch of a blog following projects I'll be tackling next year (http://timnuwin.com)

Even though I've mentioned it a few times in IRC + google plus and collected a few emails, I don't want to spam them and piss off the users who don't want to see it. Thanks.
