We are about to start writing a Java based micro-service and were wondering if anyone in industry has moved to Dagger2 for their DI in big projects. If yes, what were the challenges and benefits?
We have been using JSON for our REST APIs and JSON-schema (json-schema.org) to define the data format. We have java and .net generators to create POJO and POCO classes from JSON-schema.
Recently, I got to know about Protocol Buffers from Google and was wondering what are the benefits of it over JSON. A simple Google search did not give any satisfactory answer. Hoping to get some insight from people who have used both, better if moved from one to another.
Hi, I am an android app developer(5+yrs exp) with a day job. I don't usually do freelance due to time constraints, but need an extra $2k by November this year. A lot of my friends usually approach me with an idea for an app and ask if I can help them out in visualizing it or if I can make a sample app which they can use to take feedback from potential users and investors. It doesn't take much effort and I generally do it for free. This led me to think that there must be a lot of people out there with similar needs, where I can do such work for a small fee instead of committing to a complete app. Wondering if such kind of work can generate the required amount? Do people really want help with such tasks or only my friends have this particular requirement?
I am not on any freelancer websites and not sure if registering now would benefit me as I hear people don't trust noobs on such websites.
I wanted to buy a 23" monitor, but someone suggested that I should rather go for an LED TV instead of a monitor. Is it OK to use a TV instead of a monitor? I thought looking at a TV from such small distance is harmful as compared to a monitor, but I could see online discussions saying that tech used in LED TVs and monitors is same.
Would you rather take help from someone who's doing it for free or someone who's charging you for it? Is it a common (and proved?) notion that free has no quality?
So let's say me being an android developer want to help someone in my spare time but don't want to go through the pain of freelance websites and registrations. Would you believe such a person and ask help or just think that he/she must not be good enough.
