With the abundance of data from social networks, I would thing it would be feasible to implement a sort of a crowd-sourced contact-tracing website. Something along the lines of...

1). User indicates they have the coronavirus 2). Site fetches potential locations they may have visited, and people they may have interacted with based on their social media data. 3). User indicates interaction with said locations and users. 4). Risk profile for other users is updated.

Whenever I try and learn a new technology / language / framework, I tend to waste a lot of time using mediocre resources and websites, until EVENTUALLY I find a great resource that makes everything so clear. “If only I had this from the beginning!”

Does anyone have any good tips and techniques to speed up this process, and find the best materials?

After hearing about the petition and recently planned protest by Google employees in opposition to the Dragonfly project, I have been thinking a lot about the future of software development. I would love to hear peoples thoughts on the following…

1. How likely are these efforts by Google employees to succeed in swaying the direction of the company?

2. Are there any existing software developer labor unions that have a focus on keeping companies ethically accountable? (If any at all)

3. Are there any other better ways for developers to collectively keep companies ethically accountable?
