I've been an engineer for last 12 years and during my career I've been mentoring people and helping them learn SQL. I used different approaches but did not find any better approach from learning by [doing] writing SQL queries and solving tasks. Even if it was by leveraging the AdventureWorks database, and/or a real world production database.
So my question to people who just entering into any developer role and/or learning just SQL....
How do you learn SQL now, and what is the best approach for you personally?
The week is almost over. Any goals completed? Let's share...
I wanted to see if anybody was able to monetize apps through Google Drive.
For example, I have this idea of connecting to user's GDrive account and giving him some additional value on top of that. Let's say user see some benefits from my app. How can I earn money? Is it possible with Google?
Any examples and comments will be very much appreciated.
Trying to understand my customers better since I'd like to offer a paid service based on Google Drive usage so I have a question.
So, if you please can answer some questions below, I'll be very happy.
- What is the size of your google drive storage?
- How many members use your google drive?
- What is the usual scenario of google drive usage? (I mean just to keep files in the cloud, or day to day work with upload/download/ share with clients e.g. an agency can keep design templates made for customers)
Thank you in advance.
Does any of you build HTML templates for responsive emails from a given PSD/image? Any good company/freelancer to recommend?
So here is the question - if there are so many competitors why don't we create another MailChimp, Trello, bug tracker, calendar, or any other product?
We can just have a small piece of an existing market and make money by delivering a little bit better version of an existing apps/services/etc...
What it will take is just to market our own app and make competitive pricing. No?
What are your thoughts on this?
I'm building a job portal for Sitecore developers. And I have compiled a list of companies with their ratings - http://sitecorejob.com/companies.
Companies offer Sitecore web development positions.
Do you think that may help somebody to apply to a job post?
I've built a quick prototype of a job board for Sitecore Web Developers http://sitecorejob.com.
I wanted some feedback from developers whether it will be useful for you guys or not?
How many Sitecore developers are here on HN? Do you think Sitecore platform is trending or not? What do you want from a platform which will give you job posts?
I'm interested in a feedback for a geolocation based pricing strategy for an online e-commerce application. Does anybody use that already? What do you think about the strategy?
E.g. I can market some items on the highest price for customers from large cities but give a discount for customers from small to mid-size cities. (I can generate more cases here...)
What do you think about this?
