I understand the services affected (Twitter, WikiLeaks) all managed to bring themselves back up from the DDOS ether, but the discussion in the comments was worthwhile in my opinion and no explanation was given as to why the thread was killed. I mean, two politically-relevant websites were simultaneously taken down (heard rumors of 4chan too) within hours of the new DNC email leak - seems a techno-relevant topic as any to me.
