Used to be I would find a ton of PHP jobs on a Who's Hiring post, or in job searches. But I have started noticing that the need for PHP has all but disappeared. I know it has to still be in some demand as I see way too many WordPress and Magneto sites in my job with a web hosting company. So what happened?

I saw it with the term "The Cloud." then it happened with "Blockchain." Then "AI Powered." Now I'm starting to see "AI Powered" getting taken by the different GPT terms. Are people grabbing on GPT and using it as the next big marketing term?

When working on a project, I have been finding tools that have a last modified date of some significant time, usually a year or more. There are some projects that have a last release of years ago, but still have active work done without any new release on the horizon. So I ask, when is a project to old to use?

Watching science fiction shows/movies/games/comics/etc, the user interfaces are rather magnificent. But they rarely use elements from what people actually use. And in actual user interfaces, there isn't much that get's used in SciFi. Why is there such a large gap in these designs?

I tried to buy a decently priced laptop in a retail store earlier, and was hounded by a salesperson about getting insurance plans, virus plans, setup plans, extra software I don't really need, and a printer I didn't need. And when you do the research, many of the laptops that are priced rather low actually cost way more for the store (a process called a lead loss). Why does this practice continue, and suck? I just want a laptop.
