I'am 27 now and i have a burning desire to study math and physics from the ground up and I strongly prefer doing a self study.I want to be a self tutor till i reach certain level.

My question is what is the minimum knowledge needed to read and completely understand the General and Special Theory of Relativity.

As of now my level of math knowledge is basic differential calculus.I also have a basic understanding of Kinematics {One dimensional motion with constant acceleration}

I welcome all possible sugessions,advices and recomendations.

Please help me prove that if a graph is symmetric with respect to the x-axis and to the y-axis,then it is symmetric with respect to the origin. Hello, The addition property of real numbers says if a=b,c=d then a+c=b+d.can someone tell me why is it true? is there an algebraic proof for this or should we accept this as being true based on inductive reasoning?i really tried doing a google search for a proof but couldn't find any. (i know i had asked a similer question a couple of days ago but i feel i might get a much more reasonable answer to this one..may be the way i had put accross the question wasn't sensible)

The transitivity property of real numbers says if a>b,b>c then a>c.but when i test this property with real numbers it give's me false results.let a=1,b=2 and c=3 then the transitivity property says if 1>2,2>3 then 1>3 which doesn't make any sense.i'll be glad if someone could comeout with a nice explanation.

I have now gained an intuition of solving a simple equation involving implicit differentiation.example x^2y = 5 where y is considered to be a function of x even though it's not quite obvious.(it's not explicitly stated like y = f(x).)in this case we proceed taking the derivative using the power and the chain rule.my question is what is this implicit differentiation all about?i tried doing a google search on this but couldn't find a convincing article.wikipedia too starts off with the definition of it which i couldn't understand.neither of the two talks about the practicle uses of it. i'll be really happy if someone could explain this concept in detail.so far i've been blindly solving problems involving this technic
