Basically, out of those options we have found Stripe to be the best fit for long run.

Now we also have sub-merchants in countries that are not supported by Stripe as of now, we cannot onboard sub-merchants to Stripe Connect.

We were thinking of paying out to from Stripe to Transferwise (or similiar), and from Transferwise to sub-merchants.

But this would create a problem, we would have to create some kind of accounting system to make sure everything went smooth.

Have any of you tackled this problem in your company?

I've been asked by a friend to take a look at the project, which has been abandoned by the original devs.

Apparently, they don't want to touch it again. I don't have many details about their departure.

How would you go conduct such code/project review/analysis?

I started my own projects, joined existing projects, but never joined a project where people with knowledge about the whole architecture were gone...

P.S. Searching the web didn't help me much, the big G didn't give me any relevant blog posts, articles, etc...
