I am currently working on a project where the client has used WHMCS as their main CRM - it handles all their invoicing, subscriptions, add-ons, etc. The system was developed approx 7 years ago and while it was OK back then, it is very painful to work with now with almost a million users. Even basic features like account upgrade/downgrade, addon addition/removal, etc. are very hard to manage.

Any suggestions for a scalable system that handles all this and can integrate nicely with other services (e.g. Mixpanel, custom BI tools, etc.)

Besides SaaStr, what are some other quality B2B communities that you guys would recommend?

Coming from a CS background, I have noticed marketing blogs/communities are full of people sharing content and twisting facts with a slightly concealed goal to sell their products instead of sharing knowledge for the sake of sharing it.

Are there any good alternatives to Mixpanel for desktop applications? Its a bit too expensive.

My younger brother wants to learn this craft. I am looking for something very definite, a step-by-step course of sorts which is exciting to enough to keep him interested and motivated.

Also, which language should he start with?

Let's say if I were to provide you tools that could:

1. provide heat-maps of user touches to improve your user interface.

2. identify the habits of users who convert, through growth hacking

3. identify the user segment beforehand that might stop playing your game, and a possibility to reach out to them (user retention)

Would it be of any value to the game developers or are there any pressing problems that need to be solved first? If yes, please identify.

I am designing a promo campaign for my startup. have a budget of x dollars. Now the question is should I follow the give something to everyone rule and give a smaller reward to every guy who signs up. Or should I make it exclusive and give a much much bigger reward to the top 3 guys?<p>The Pros and Cons I could think of are:<p>1- If you give something to everyone, the reward is spread tooo thin to be attractive. 2- But if you're giving something to everyone who signs up and performs an action, people may think of it as sure fire money for which they dont have to wait for a contest, etc.<p>Can you guys share your opinion on it as well? It'd be great if you already have some experience running this sort of campaign.

I beta launched my service a while ago and got around a 100 guys to sign up. Some of those guys have started using the service when I sent them the welcome email while the rest of them have never even logged in.

So I have two questions:

1. Any ideas as to how should engage those guys who never logged in? 2. Them subscribing to the service implies that they are interested in it so why wouldnt they use the service?

1. How would you feel if you could access the same Win 7 experience from your iPad, Android and other smartphones? You'll have the ability to use the same desktop from your home, office and even on-the-go via those interfaces.

2. How useful would it be for you guys if I can give you pre-configured environments with everything setup for different development needs?

Like having one image tailored for Android development with Eclipse and the Android SDK set up. A configuration set for iOS development with XCode and Developer Tools, an image for LAMP stack development complete with all the IDEs and tools/utilities, etc.
