About half a year ago, some big tech company released an open-source LLM. What makes that model special is that they made available a model training diary/journal recording everything their engineers did to babysit the training process, e.g. "on day 143, the training loss plateaued, so we decreased the learning rate further". I think it was in a shared Google Doc.

Can you remind me of the name of the company/model?

I start feeling lazy, tired, and cannot concentrate recently, and that has a huge negative impact on my performance. I have tried to get myself more sleeping, but that doesn't help.

How do you debug yourself?

I'm optimizing on an R library, whose critical part is expected to be rewritten in C/C++, but the problem is I don't really know C++, even though I have some decent experience with C and Java. I don't have a lot of time for this task, and teaching myself how to write C++ with RCpp would be too time consuming and I suspect if it would finally pay off.

Just asking if there is a tutorial more comprehensive than [1], which seems a little too concise.

I'm an undergraduate in Statistics. I read some articles about how great ZFS is, but most of them mainly talk about data integrity. Of course that's important, but I didn't lose any data with the 256G SSD of my MacBook Pro for years anyway (I accidentally deleted some files once, but that's a human error).

I'm also not using RAID to store Zebibytes of data, and speaking of encryption and read/write efficiency, other filesystems can offer similiar fetures.

So, how can ZFS benefit me?
