I'm looking for an alternative to the Windows native search (folder and files, not apps).

I want to be able to choose where to search (folder, disk) and have the options to filter (like wildcards, filetype and anything else I can get) and order the results.

Any suggestions?

I went to https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-snapshots/index.html and searched for the last stable release on https://omahaproxy.appspot.com/viewer (386251 => win64/stable/51.0.2704.84) but the [386251] folder doesn't exist.

Also, is Chromium as secure as Chrome regarding sandbox and everything else? And IIUC I need to install pepper flash directly from Adobe.

If I make a simple Android app (Google Play store), will I be able to keep my information private? Even when somebody make an in app purchase. Like using a fictional company name (I never registered one) so nobody knows it's me. Only Google would have my real name and everything else.

There's no nefarious reason. I'm just your usual paranoid pc enthusiast who doesn't like his name and entire life decisions indexed and available to everybody.

I need an old macbook for doing some tests and also allow my son to learn a little about development (I want to give him a slower machine on purpose).

If I replace the HDD for a SSD and the battery, do you think a model from 2008/2009 (A1181 IIRC) can still last a few more years? Like, what's the average life span of such beasts?

I might install Linux on it!
