I've gone and built an extensive website for nursing students (that took forever to populate with data) but I'm wary of launching it until I learn how to prevent or minimize automated scraping of the content.

I thought about showing a teaser and requiring login to see everything, but then I lose out on google juice, no?

It's an LAMP environment. Any thoughts?

I teach flash and actionscript at the community college level. Besides the adobe documentation, what are good resources and or books for intro level classes. I'm looking for new ideas, thanks.

Ps. Most of my students have no prior experience with programming or scripting just HTML and CSS.

The DOM is great and all but I'm increasingly frustrated by slow loading of images on mobile devices. Can some smart person figure out how to load images starting from their center?

I'm a web developer/ producer. mostly i build wordpress or drupal sites but i've done joomla, modx, magento, ektron, dotnetnuke, code igniter. I've been doing this about 6 years and i've never owned a smartphone in my life. thinking about biting the bullet. I'm on verizon in the ny metro area. I have no idea what i want. help me figure it out.
