I am going to travel 6800 miles (9800km) to Silicon Valley for the first time in my life, I am really exited and I want to meet startup founders, visit offices from companies like Google, Facebook, Apple. My idea is to meet other people and discuss things, understand how they do business and try to learn as much as possible.

Hello HN. I have been working on my own company for the past 4 years, at the beginning was really great, a lot of customers, a good amount of growth month over month, but after a while, and because of the crisis of our country, we don't have enough money to cover the cost of the company.

We have been fighting to be profitable day after day after day for the past 9 months. We have to fire some people on "un-grow" the company to keep it alive, and we have to inject money month after month.

I am really tired of this situation, I have another income source, for the past 9 months I keep a positive mind about the business, dreaming with the new good times, but that didn't happen and don't seems to happen soon.

I like to think if I give up right now, maybe I am losing the chance of my life, this business gives me a lot of connections, lots of friends, allow me to travel and learn a ton about business, technology, e-commerce and more, that is why I don't want to leave all our hard work.

Have you ever lived a similar situation? How do you manage? Do you regret it?

I am so anxious right now I can't even sleep at night.

I would like to know your personal experiences developing a open source software, how do you start, and how do you get your idea?

I want to start something, but I don't know what.

I am looking to create some examples with D3, and I need some free data.

For example: historical price of oil, weather in X city, etc.

Is there any website with tons of free data?

I lost my job two months ago, since I sent around 200 resumes, nobody want to hire a remote. Where I can search for remote position in CA, NY or TX?

I am working on my own startup. The basic idea is to connect travelers in nice bars in differents cities. Own early adopters are travelers. That is clear.

I have this question: have I start with a lot of cities? Or just focus in the most touristic cities in the world (like the top 20)?

Both have their pros and cons.

Main advantage: all the users can use the site. Main disadvantage: users are widely dispersed.
