Wouldn't democratized access to advanced AI lower long standing barriers to entry for a large subset of businesses and lead to more competition and lower prices for consumers?

I know a handful of people that have been unemployed for over 6 months. It could easily be any one of us here in this job market. I'm trying to take inventory of my options and get a sense of what it would be like.

Our layoffs happened a month or so ago. The three low performers on our team were let go. Has it been a similar story at your org?

We are all familiar with the layoffs in the tech sector. Will the people who have been laid off eventually have to find other avenues for employment in sectors of the economy where hiring is still strong?

2022 was brutal for tech stocks across the board, but especially for the likes of HOOD, COIN, SQ, to name a few.

Where do you think they go from here and why?

I have reason to believe one or two of my coworkers have been placed on PIP after end of year reviews. What is the average grace period for PIP and how common is it for people to recover?

I started at a mid-cap household name company at the start of the pandemic and don't see myself leaving of my own accord until I retire for a few reasons:

1. Work is fully remote

2. We have excellent work / life balance

3. Company's stock has weathered this years storm

4. Interviewing is a horror show best avoided, besides...

5. Job market is weakening with no recovery in sight

6. I'm in my early 40s

7. Startup success (which I've had previously as an early employee) is going to be rare in the coming years
