Today is the first day that I had to admit to myself that I'm not capable of finishing any work, because of my forearm pain.

I'm glad to be at a point where I realise that it's only that - for about two years I thought i began to hate coding and any computer related work. Looking back i now realise that was me rationalizing my forearm pain.

I have a difficult time accepting that this will be like this forever. I'm optimistic that there's a way to significantly reduce the pain, without surgery.

What is your experience?

Feels like an accurate hourly rain forecast is not too much to ask for in 2021. Why is it that it's sometimes off by a whole day? Is it lack of computing power? Unsophisticated models? Is it that the "measuring stations" are in specific locations, and you can't really generalize that to the whole city? Will we ever get to an accurate hourly (minute?) rain forecast?

Feel free to finish the probable-manager's sentence: "No, we should make it German only, because..."

It's a general question about the reasons behind original providers limiting user's choice. Feel free to use other platforms and countries.

For example, I'm thinking showing something to HN via 'Show HN'. Keeping in mind, that I only get one shot (as discussed in another question), what would be the best time to promote?

The dilemma: periods of high activity also entail high frequency of 'Show HN' posts.

'Best' is defined as that, which will result in the most views. Ultimately, I'd go for user retention, but determining when is the highest saturation of my target audience on a given network is next to impossible, so I'm going with best = biggest number of views.

With this, a simplified approach would be something like: bestTime = fn(currentNumberOfUsers, probOfSeeingPost). probOfSeeingPost in turn would be dependent on the frequency of similar posts, which itself is dependent on the currentNumberOfUsers. So, when one argument (currentNumberOfUsers) is increased, the other (probOfSeeingPost) gets decreased.

Or are there more important factors I'm missing.

...besides Show HN. In the Show HN description, it states, that releases are not worth a 'Show HN' post. This creates some pressure, because you only get one shot with the HN community, so you're product better be free of major bugs. And sometimes, you just don't know anyone personally, who will be able to provide constructive criticism, since nobody is passionate enough neither from the technical, nor 'idea' side about your project.

Is there a solution on the web where you can provide your not-so production level solution, preferably anonymously, and get constructive feedback?
