Thing is, I've chosen family time over maximum income so it is possible that health care prohibits us from moving until my wife can work (visa issies aside for now).
Thanks!
We're think more Southern California but I haven't ruled out my contacts at Google and Facebook as possible job options. But I'm 42 with kids 10 and 12 and not sure if I really want to work in those environments.
What are peoples thoughts on standing desks after long term use? First I have to consider the loss of desk real estate, but I should still be able to run my triple monitor setup.
Second is the fact that I do often take breaks for a quick run on the treadmill, lift some weights, etc. So maybe there is no benefit to a standing desk for me.
What we would be looking for is a laid back beach side town where they can learn to surf, is not too expensive so I can keep working part time, and so on.
We were in Carlsbad a couple months back and liked it a lot, but priced out of our range. Years back I was around Ventura and liked it as well, but I have no idea what its like now.
Any thoughts? We're also checking out Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica.
Thanks.
Anyways, I've recently discovered these standing seats like the Focus Upright Mobis. How are these for all day use? I know I could get a height adjustable desk and vary the height through the day, but I'd rather use what I already have - which is a height adjustable desk, I just can't adjust it on demand.
And while on the topic, what are people finding is optimal for software development these days. My setup was built in 2008 - triple 24" 1920x1200 monitors. I'm do for a full redo of my office and am thinking that one large monitor may be best - with my laptop on some arm or something.
Thanks!
