It has been frustrating 60 hours moving a site to Hugo from Jekyll. The documentation is unusable for a beginner and the docs are so interlinked it is like going down a rabbit hole.
Hugo is a good tool to make static sites. Yet, it is not beginner friendly and some of the moderators are very rude. After a frustrating 80 hours trying to move from Jekyll, I have given up on Hugo! Their philosophy is "either you learn Go or move on to something else". My satisfaction with Hugo is 0.3 out of 5.
