In the process trees in Process Explorer, I often see crashpad_handler.exe as a subprocess of Firefox, VSCodium, PingPlotter and probably others. Thing is, the crash handler belongs to Drive File Stream – here's an example of the command line that started the process, according to Sysinternals Process explorer:

    "C:\Program Files\Google\Drive File Stream\37.0.8.0\crashpad_handler.exe" --database=C:\Users\[REDACTED]\AppData\Local\Google\DriveFS\Crashpad --url=https://clients2.google.com/cr/report --annotation=application=firefox.exe --annotation=prod=DriveFS --annotation=ver=37.0.8.0 --initial-client-data=0x1c64,0x1f28,0x[REDACTED]

It seems far-fetched to me that these applications are requesting this behavior, and more likely that Drive FS collects crash data for a bunch of other applications willy-nilly. My Duck-fu fails me in finding anything related to Google doing this.

Does anyone have insight into what this is about?
