I noticed that one of the most popular recurring posts on HN are the ones where people showcase their small or big business successes.

As most of these businesses or side projects are done by IT people for IT people, I’m curious to know if there is any IT service or API which doesn’t exist yet that you will willingly pay for.

I live in a city where house prices have been increasing tremendously over the past years. Unfortunately most of the prices are artificially inflated by real estate agencies who sometimes charge even 100k more than the owner’s initial request.

Navigating these listings has proven unnerving to say the least. Especially when multiple agencies post the same property shot from different angles.

I would love to scrape those listings and be able to identify all pictures depicting the same house. The scraping part is easy enough, but how should I proceed with the image grouping/recognition. Is there any trained model that is able to say if the pictures belong to the same house?

Please note that the agencies will not post the exact address and most of the time they will do interior shots only. This prevents the potential buyer to go knock at the owner’s door.
