I've been shocked by the costs of cloud compute for CI. I've seen hundreds of VMs used by dozens of engineers at peak.

Are others seeing this in software companies? Or have I seen particularly expensive CI systems?

Every time I see a story about a VPN, there's a lot of complaints and demands about privacy, security, etc.

I'm curious, what would the ideal VPN be? Would they be based in a particular country (or does that even matter)?

How would they provide the transparency of operations without compromising the business itself?
