I live in the east bay, moved back to the bay area about 8 months ago, thus far have been working in SF doing the commute each day which is getting to me. From job searches it seems there aren't many options out here, at least not with smaller companies. I'm looking to get into doing node js so looking for a company that uses this. Just curious if anyone has any advice, info on whether there are many companies in the east bay. thanks

I moved back to the bay area about half a year ago, currently work as a salaried employee but I would like to start taking on some corp to corp work. I do realize what this entails and my plan is to do this properly, where I am actually independent, only go on-site for meetings, etc and would eventually have more than 1 client.

I'm interested to possibly work with startups or more established companies, have a background in some of the newer web technologies as well as Java-based search engines, etc. I'm curious if anyone has advice as far as where I can get the most "bang for my buck" as far as networking with people who are open to contracting out work on a corp to corp basis, I'm fairly busy as is and it seems not everyone is open to this (they just want full-time in-house employee). Would appreciate any advice.

Just hoping to maybe find some other people working on similar projects or who may be interested in this one, basically I'm hacking on a node js project with some ideas to integrate social media platforms to automate some tasks that may be useful to a user, using various API's of the social media websites. The end goal is to use light heuristic AI to perform some tasks

Example:

User is browsing a group they like on a website like meetup and then decides they want to connect with similar users on linkedin, it would use linkedin api and grab users based on some search parameters taken from the meetup page they are viewing (would be from meetup api actually)

I have some simpler use cases in mind too, more of an exploratory project and good practice for my node js skills as I'm new to it, but if anyone is interested to work on a fron-end (my app is just json api, no front-end) I would be more than happy to collaborate.
