They have kept it open source, and it looks there has been more development since then. However, some users complain about the monetization of the brand. I'm not sure what the ratio of positives to negatives are. It's clear that the devs and the company can make money this way, (and I think this is a good thing), but I'd like to better understand if this kind of model can be good for the users too.

Questions I have:

How has the community responded? It's hard to find much about this, and I imagine many users aren't even aware of this. Did any users leave or join because of changes due to this acquisition?

On the development side, is it easier or more difficult for new developers to contribute new features or fixes to MuseScore?

Is there any worry that if things don't work out they will relicense the product or code and make money that way by selling it for commercial use?

Would the same issues apply to a more popular OSS like VLC?
