Are there any start-ups here plans to enter Turkish market. I might be very happy to discuss the market for Turkey.

I really wonder how you guys are choosing a "name" for your start-up (i.e. domain name). It is like impossible to find a generic domain name that fits to your project. Only possibility, is to combine two words.

However, since I am not a native English speaker, I need feedbacks and would like to know if there are some ways to get feedback for domain names from other people. (If I share my top-ten list, then I am sure other people would benefit from it, so I need to find more clever name instead of asking at dnforum.com)

I have used some tools (bustaname.com) to find a combination of related names, and used (pickydomains.com) for finding a domain name, however I wasn't very lucky.

I would like to buy a great 4-char domain name like meto.com, but I dont want to spend all my seed funding to a domain name.

So I am in the middle of buying a great domain name and starting the project, or starting the project with a s*cking name. (By meaning starting= I am not referring starting from scratch, I ahve already worked on it but it is a nameless project!)

I am sure many of comments would be similar to: 1) Just start your company with a thisismycompamyandoingthisandthis.com and don't care the domain name 2) Your name is after what your project does.

But when we look back to the great projects, they somehow used great domain names, and didn't start with a bad name and soon after changed their domain name to a better one.

As an EE, I was wondering why there is not a wide world for electronics start-ups like there is for software/internet start-ups.

Suppose I want to develop a product called "ipod" and want to start a company named "apple". Where should one start ?

The path is easy for an internet startup (you develop product, find investors, try to make traction..).

There is not a ycombinator for electronics startups. (I am not talking about a health tracker gadget which you can track your heart beats via your iphone, I am talking about startups that really do hardcore electronics like chip designs...)

I also couldn't find many resources for electronicsware startups. Just follow eetimes and spectrum (ieee) websites.

I really want to discuss the reasons here.

I am not sure whether this question might be prohibited or not (checked rules). But I wonder If there were any applicants from Turkey that applied to YC? Or from non-EU countries?

Just wanted to read about their experiences.
