Ask HN: Why the Surge in YC Open-Source Startups?
It seems like a high-risk high-reward play. It makes sense for VCs. But does it make sense for the founders? Does it make sense for bootstrapped startups?

Can you tell me what's the value of a domain name like this? Also, what is the best route to capitalize it?
I'm looking for an easy and preferably free way to manage passwords and credentials in my company. Recently there was a post on HN about a service like for this, but I can't remember the name of the website. (it used browser add-ons to enable auto-login for various services, it stored the passwords in the cloud).
Does anyone remember the name of that product? If not, do you know a good solution for this?
Best regards, Andrew
I've been working on this side-project for three months. I bought the domain name several years ago to build a whois service better then existing ones.
Here is how I planned to monetize it: - domain name reselling - paid API service - advertising - selling the website
In 2009 when I bought the domain name, being a reseller seemed the best idea, but now in 2013 I don't have too much confidence in either one.
Can you give me some ideas to monetize this?
