What are good companies or teams for developers/engineers/scientists, short builders, to bridge the gap between San Francisco and say Berlin?

I am a senior full stack engineer originally from Germany and been working in the valley for a while. With my next gig I want to have a bridge to my home country while staying in the tech scene of San Francisco. What are my options?

Mates, I do have one problem. While I regard myself as a full-stack engineer (C,C++,Java,JavaScript,PHP,HTML,CSS, etc.) I get bombed at every single interview exclusively with Java questions. I know Java and I can solve problems in it, but in my last two interviews my Java code was not elegant enough and my solution not fast or smooth enough.

Can you guys advice me a Java exercise reference that includes nice short problems for Object Oriented Java including advanced data structure stuff. It would be important that it also comes with a solution section such that you can actually compare your solution with a suggested one ...

I have spent some effort in learning ruby on rails. So far I only used tutorials that guide you step by step through how to build some page. I am wondering is there a book or any kind of literature out there that explains ruby on rails to programmers/engineers/coders NOT beginners?
