I'm planning to apply to the Google Startup Program which offers credits of up to $200K for Google Cloud usage (https://cloud.google.com/startup). I'm a solo founder and have built several small startups on Google Cloud but have never applied for this before.

Has anyone done it and gotten a significant amount of money? Any tips/tricks/hacks to maximize the amount I may be able to get? Thanks!

I have built a python library for advanced timezone handling; essentially running cron jobs for users based on their local tz.

I would like to sell the library. It could be a saas but it would really run so much better as a local library/include.

How do I sell a library/plug-in and prevent my code from showing up for free? Has anyone used a commercial licensing solution? Does anything work, or do I need to model in a certain amount of theft?

The webkit-text-size-adjust overrides the minimum font size settings in Chrome. I use Chrome's minimum font size settings to help make up for my declining eyesight. This css property prevents Chrome (and other webkit browsers) from increasing the font size.

I suspect this property is causing accessibility problems for many users with poor or declining eyesight.

Is there a reason to include this property, beyond just to ensure consistent design?

I respectfully request that you remove the -webkit-text-size-adjust property entirely.

I am curious to know what saas or apps are HN user's paying out of their own pocket for? Not business apps, but for your own personal use. Personally, I pay for feedly (rss reader), G Suite domain (for my personal email), todoist premium (task/to do app). Not an app, but I pay for the Wall Street Journal.

It's been nearly 2 years since I ask this question so I thought it would be good to get an update.

I have an existing side project (dndemail.com) that I have no time for. It has 40 paying customers, low churn and converts free trial to paying accounts at a 1.7% rate.

Is anyone looking for a side project to contribute to? Instead of starting your own project from scratch, work on mine and earn equity.

I have 4 kids. I am filling out all the start of school forms for each kid. I have to fill out these same forms each year. Are you doing the same thing? Let's make this year the last year we are manually filling out forms -- let's build a SaaS platform for school forms. Community built, open-sourced, free.

Brief sketch of the idea: survey monkey + docusign, but with a 100 pre-built templates for K-12 school situations. Medical emergency form. Carpool form. Field trip permission form. Backend gives schools an easy way to customize and track forms. Forms are emailed to parents and filled out online. Parent's information is saved so that any new form is pre-filled in with as much known info as possible.

I have a web app with 1400 users and 22 paying customers. Freemium signups are converting to paid at around a 1.5% rate. The site is 1.5 years old and is a side project. My main project has taken off so I don't have time to develop this project anymore. Any recommendations on the best place to sell a small web app?

HN articles about Amazon get commenters who claim to have recieved counterfeit products from Amazon.

Seeing how rapidly Amazon is growing, I am wondering if there is a business opportunity in fighting these counterfeits.
