HN posts sometimes cover things like this, but almost always with a very startup-focused lens (which is of course perfectly appropriate).

I subscribe to hbr.org and enjoy the blog posts and some of the commentary there, but am looking for more. Where else can I find this kind of stuff?

I take notes a lot, tending to pencil and notebooks. But not only do I think there's a better way to organize things (I know I should be using a note-taking app or something that deposits to Dropbox, for example), I'm not happy with the actual things that I write down. I go back and read things, and while I can follow a general train of thought, things that seemed superfluous or too detailed at the time are now essential for context.

Where can I learn to do a better job of figuring out what to write down, and keeping it in such a way that I become a resource for myself?

Over the holiday I found myself in front of the TV more than usual watching games and whatnot with the family. Several times we all ended up engrossed in something that was at least moderately interesting on History Channel, Science TV, etc. So I'm thinking I'm doing a really bad job of consuming a medium that still does some things very well.

For that matter, what do you watch, and maybe just as importantly, how?

I hope this is found to be relevant. I ask because I seriously think the iPad represents an inflection point in the way people interact with machines, possibly even with magnitude similar to the introduction of the mouse to the masses in the early '80s. If that turns out to be anywhere near true, then the iPad and its soon-competitors represent a HUGE entrepreneurial opportunity.

So, owners of iPads, is it qualitatively different? Is it better? Is it close but needs another iteration? I've not bought one yet, but have gone to look at it twice, and been, well, underwhelmed. But something keeps me thinking about it.

Sorry to resurrect something that dominated discussion for a while, but I'm genuinely curious if the honeymoon is over or if the iPad has real traction.
