It's the biggest company in the world yet they can't hire engineering teams that don't make stuff worse. SwiftUI has got to be one of the worst frameworks I've ever seen and it breaks all the time. Who was the genius that thought of this completely unreadable way to build an interface? TTS completely stopped working in iOS17 and xCode 15. And that's after several bugs were reported in beta. Once we upgrade operating systems, we can't go back and download an XCode that works. Or downgrade operating systems. I guess I should be thanking them for making it so hard to be a developer cause if they made it easy, everyone would do it.

I want to spend about $5-10 per person, to have my user demographic download the app and basically tell what worked and what needs work.

Posting on Fiverr lead to a couple responses but none are in the target demographic. So I tried Craigslist but they suspended my account without giving a reason. I'm appealing the suspension but haven't received any response yet.

Reddit might work but my concern is that it would get flagged as it did on Craigslist.

If someone has any experience conducting user surveys for apps I'd appreciate some tips.

I've been browsing this site on average, a couple of times a day for 5 or 6 years. Suffice to say, it's not what it used to be. I have absolutely no hard data no back this up but my intuition tells me there are a many users in the tech space that are here for marketing purposes.

For example, I've noticed at least 3 times a multi-million/multi-billion dollar sass companies releasing new features or new pricing getting 400+ upvotes. Then most of the comments gushing about how great the product is.

Most comments I see is shallow and opinionated as opposed to rational/technical discussion that made Hacker News what it was.

It's possible that it's just my perception has changed not Hacker News. So I have to ask: Has anyone else noticed this or am I going cuckoo?

Zoom has a 65B billion dollar market cap with a sales of 622M. The PE ratio is at 1300. Comparatively, Microsofts PE ratio is around 30. As a software engineer, I don't see their product as particularly unique or difficult to duplicate.

Their stock price is has jumped from 68 in January to 238 in June.

In my opinion, it's one of the biggest valuation bubbles I've seen. I want to hear from people who disagree with me.

If all apps just went away along with their data but all the tools to build them still exist, what would be the first app you'd create?

Many people have watched AI compete with humans in Chess, Go, and Dota 2. Do you think we'd ever be willing to watch AI compete with AI? If so, what would the game be?

I've been coding web and mobile apps for 12 years and I've worked on countless forms. It seems like there should exist a formal way to define them (field names, data types, validation, endpoints, etc.), compatible with backend and frontend languages. Then a library, in each given language to render the form. Anyway, I'd like to define a form once and render it or process it without any extra work. Do any hackers know of such a thing?
