Have you replaced any roles/contractors directly by using various AI tools?
The 90s were the peak of human existence. We didn’t have insane technological progress and things in general seemed quite cohesive. It was a human centric period.
Countries were developing and moving their populations out of poverty. We had good original movies and we weren’t making the 4th remake in the same universe.
Music was meshing in new ways but again, it was mostly original and fresh.
Now, where will the joy of creativity be? Anyone can make any reality they want. Pretty soon, we might be able to make our own realities.
So maybe the Matrix was right. We are all in a simulation which will lead to the machines overtaking us, and we will land back in the simulated reality over and over again.
The next Matrix will fix the previous one’s defects. Forever.
I use cursor and co pilot occasionally but find that it hampers me about half the time on some issues, or really helps in others.
I have tracked my usage over the last 21 days:
42% of the time I gave up and did it myself. Of these, I gave 86% at least 3 attempts with the prompt. 72% of the time the reason I gave up was because it kept giving me wrong code, the next reason was because it changed the variables around or shifted my code way too much.
63% of the time it solved my problem. 45% of these were solved in the first attempt. I messed up how I track this because there were updates I made which were faster to do myself than to prompt.
Of all these, I had classified 76% as easy/tedious tasks.
