- Most people only speak their local language
- They form close relationships (e.g. marriage) with people who doesn't speak their language.
- They can only communicate with their loved ones via a "universal translator".
- The universal translator breaks down.
- They can no longer communicate with their loved ones.
I'm sure I've seem similar themes, but it's usually with aliens or an inability to communicate with everyone regardless of language.
- "I love how I have to watch 3 minutes of adverts before I watch the video."
- "This [DISGUSTING LOOKING FOOD] looks delicious."
QUESTIONS:
- Wouldn't the AI have to have human level understanding of the subject and the context around it?
- Couldn't this lead to AIs creating products/suggestions that are the opposite of what people want?
- If this is a real problem, is there a technical name for it?
