  I’m working on an idea called EmergingRepos (working name) a site for finding repos that are just starting to get momentum. The kind of repo I’m interested in is not brand new with 0 stars and not already famous. The sweet spot is something like:

  - small star count

  - small fork count

  - recent commits

  - more than one contributor

The idea is that this could be a win-win. Maintainers get thoughtful early attention, and readers get to discover repos where they can jump in, make a PR and get that joining an active team feel. i.e. the days of just making your own new repo and trying to get it going might be over. There’s just too many! Here are a few examples:

I got an email from 郭涛 and at first I thought it must be spam. I get a lot of spam with Chinese characters. But then I noticed it was a reply to an email I sent to a Chinese company's customer service technical support.

The reply was very helpful and I wanted to add 郭涛 to my contact list but I needed some English translation right?

Normal google translate just told me Guō Tāo which is fine. But still, what did the characters mean?

Guō: Literally means "outer city wall" or "city enclosure", symbolizing protection, defense, or a stronghold.

Tāo: Means "big waves" or "surging tides". Conveys a sense of power, momentum, and unstoppable force.

Okay now we are getting somewhere...

Then I asked would "stronghold of big waves" be the right english?

After you have talked and demo'd your screen save the files and run:

And it will make you a final cut pro xml file you can import to FCP and have a video like:
