The app lets users find others who are into (or interested) in the same diet and fitness programs as they are. For example, someone who's on a ketogenic diet and doing the 5-3-1 program might want to meet people with similar plans/goals.
It is also location-based and allows people to meet others who go to their gym. The idea is to break down some of the barriers to meeting others at the gym.
I've started small, but I have future plans for Spotify integration, search, and anything that users might request.
Gymmmr is a social network that enables people to find partners and friends to workout with. Users enter their diet information, goals, and fitness program and are able to search for other users with similar interests/routines.
As the front page says, the goal of Gymmmr is to build community one gym at a time. Another useful feature of the app is that it enables users to find personal trainers who may specialize in helping them achieve their unique diet and fitness goals.
By default, users are shown users in their city and state since proximity is an important factor given the goals of the application.
Gymmmr is still under development but will be full released within the next couple of weeks.
Enjoy!
I'm in a bind financially after a contract came to an end, and being recently laid off by a startup when they ran into financial trouble. This all happened in the span of about a year. I used up most of my savings having not been eligible for unemployment after my last contract ended. During my time at the startup, I was also trying to re-build my finances but I find myself worse off than I was before. Basically, I only have enough to cover my rent until mid-December when I get my next unemployment cheque.
I know that asking here is sometimes frowned upon in the community, but I've gotten work here before, when I was a student. So I figure that maybe I'd be able to help someone again.
I'm currently interviewing and have an opportunity that may work out, but I would still have to be able to afford transportation to get there.
My contact information and GitHub links are in my profile.
Thanks for reading,
