Ask HN: Defending against browser fingerprinting?

I don't want to turn off Javascript and I don't want to use Tor as my daily driver. I was thinking that if there were a browser extension that forged values then it would solve the make-me-less-unique problem if many people use it. Would anyone use this? Is there a better way?
