Hi everyone, I'm building your standard CRUD app as a toy project to explore some fields I'm interested in.

My goal is to make the app local-first with the option to synchronize to a central server and other devices. The data should also be E2E encrypted, meaning that users should input their passwords in order to decrypt the data downloaded from the server.

What I'm asking in this question are resources on how to learn anything relevant to the problem at hand. Good resources on CRDTs, distributed systems, etc., you name it.

I'm also not looking for finished products themselves (e.g. Couchbase or CouchDB), as my goal is to learn this stuff and implement myself a sync engine specific to my app. However I'd love to read resources about the implementation behind these products.

My colleague and I will soon launch a landing page for an upcoming product, which is basically a mobile app.

We are debating whether we should get a new domain for this product of if it won't make a difference.

Our "main" domain, the organization's one, is 6 characters long and ending with .com.

Our product's name is also 6 characters long, so our landing page would be abcdef.ghijkl.com.

Another point that was mentioned was e-mails, will it be a problem to have an e-mail like support@abcdef.ghijkl.com?

I read an article some time ago where someone (the writer of this software) scraped a lot of repositories from GitHub to assess the information he could gather.

I was discussing with some friends what should change in our city that would incentivize the creation of a startup ecosystem, or similar, some sort of tech hub.

Is it government programs? A big company growing or coming here and attracting others, or just attracting top talent? Incubators?

I was hoping to see a discussion on that topic so any links are also appreciated.
