Good podcasts for system design/senior position
Thanks
Thanks
Looking for something like hackernews but specific to go where I can read articles from diff devs experience
I am currently working in one of big 4 companies. Previously, I was working for another big telecom company (which is going down now) for almost 5 years. I have been at my current position for almost 8 months
I am one of those person who love to work with new technologies. I suffered a plateau in my previous company because I was constantly on one single product (with multiple projects surrouding it). I foresee same thing happening in my current position. I am doing more of Tech support role than actually working on something interesting. And even if i get to do it wouldn't involve any of latest tech.
QUESTION:
I am thinking to leave my FullTime and move to contracting postion.
1. Is it a good idea? 2. Where this could lead me in next 10 years? Can i build my own consultancy company around my experience? 3. In terms of savings and stuff, my current company does has RSU options but they aren't enough. Can i save more as part of contracting?
Any other tips, experiences reelated to similar situation would help
In second interview, I was presented with a question which wasn't anything related to typical CITC, LeetCode or HackerRank problem. It was a business usecase that i needed to implement. Wasn't hard at all but just because i didn't have much programming practice, it took me more time than anticipated and hence I got rejected.
I was wondering, if there any websites, which has list of some programming/business use-cases that i can practice on. Something that are doable in 45 minutes of time span.
Anything would help
So how should i design the app which
1. Will have a Web Client for Administrators and for users 2. Should provide user access on iOS/Android
I was looking at different technologies and I am so confused. There is Angular JS, ROR, DJango, IonicFramework and so many more ... So if i ask you to design a modern web-app for browser and cell phones,
1. How many tiers you would have 2. What framework/would you use at what tier 3. What architecture you would use. I mean there was SOA back in the time and now there is a new buzz word (micro-services). How would you decouple server with front end so that same functionality could be used on client brwoser and native mobile apps.
Any help is appreciated.
The project I want to build requires
- A neat UI (I like Vaadin but not sure how good it is)
- Cross platform UI compatibility - Server Side to do transactions, printing on different machines, Roles management etc
Thanks.
