Are there any startups out there in Palo Alto or Mountain View that have spare work space they'd like to sublease?

I'm looking for some, and the 'AirBnB for office space' startups don't have local inventory. How would you find space?

I build a website called favstar.fm. Its purpose is to provide feedback on tweets - and easily show who is favoriting and retweeting your tweets.

This morning I woke up to discover a Japanese user has been using it as a canvas. Visit this tweet and click on the 'others' link next to retweets and you'll see a cool picture that they've put together by carefully setting up avatars for over 60 Twitter users, and then making them retweet a tweet in just the right order.

Has your webservice been used for something totally different than what you intended and produced a nice result?

While educating myself I've seen that startup lawyers sometimes invest in angel or series A rounds. I was wondering what people thought of this. To me it seems a little disadvantageous as it means your lawyer's interests are now aligned with the other investors, instead of remaining independent. As a founder, would you be second guessing advice given to you by your lawyer after the event, or would you trust that the advice they give continues to be the best for the company, even if 'best for the company' sometimes needs to be divergent from the best interests of the investors?

It seems there's a huge number of options out there for publishers now. I'm looking in to the possibilities for placing advertising on my site (which shows a variety of tweets).

Do you have any recommendations, or suggestions on what I should be aware of when looking for an ad provider?

Hey guys, I'm curious to hear what you think about page scraping. Are you happy to page scrape other sites? Are you happy to have yours scraped? What's your view on the ethics?

I'm asking because I'm aware my site's started to be scraped (by more than search engines), and I'm trying to figure out how I feel about it. In this case I'm happy because I know the audience/user base is smallish. If an app went mainstream that did it, I wouldn't be happy.

Of course the pragmatic answer is simple - 'build an api' - a few more weekends and I might.

But right now I'm interested to hear people's opinions on it.

Hey guys, I currently have a 2GB server with slicehost which ends up io bound a lot of the time (big db). I'm thinking about getting a server with more ram - 4, 8, or 16GB depending on cost. Do you know of any good providers out there who are low cost - or who provide higher ram packages with lower bandwidth and hard disk offerings?

I'm looking for cheap as I'm completely bootstrapping and doubt I'll be bringing in any revenue in the next few months. Any suggestions appreciated.
