Should people downvote stuff they disagree with? And, conversely, should people upvote comments just because they agree with them? Both seem to be common on Hacker News. Is this something that people are supposed to use voting for?
If I want to use some sort of cool presentation format other than PowerPoint to make me look "hipster" what should I use? Not something like LibreOffice's alternative, something that will stand out.
Specifically I'm asking about how to indicate sarcasm on HN. I've seen tons of different methods on different sites and I'm left confused about which ones to use.
