Something to keep in mind when using a Mac if you are from a Windows background is how merging folders operates differently. On Mac its a replacement operation in the most literal sense. There is no merging of folders. I created a 1 min video to demonstrate this user design dragon.

I've been thinking a lot of the good old simple days of the internet and programming. Lots of technology and tools are killed now right out of the gate b/c of how powerful established players have gotten. Your hobby project to track bots on twitter, killed by an overnight API change.

So I'm looking for a list of the "lost arts".

For example, its near impossible to find documentation related to reverse engineering Widevine DRM.

Anything published is scrubbed from the internet search results lighting fast.

Their site hasn't been updated since they started the lawsuit a decade ago. Does anyone have the history or more information?

I am very fascinated by how others complete their work. Years ago I encountered a blog where every post was an interview with a different professional or student about which routines, hacks, software, hardware, etc... they used to complete their work.

The blog had an article interviewing a phd computer science student at Stanford (or it might have been MIT) about how a normal day doing research looked like. Another post interviewed an indie game developer and the person revealed that they had made their local starbucks their office.

Does anyone else remember the name of this blog or have any recommendations for simular ones?
